Used in recent years as a gallery and event space, this beautifully restored former factory is five minutes from Brixton station and less from Coldharbour Lane’s much-hyped bar and restaurant scene. You can see traces of this industrial space’s past in its high ceilings, exposed brickwork and open-plan layout, making it a versatile venue for a range of events. The space holds up to 200 people standing, and it comes with DJ equipment and an alcohol licence until 2am.
Apart from the church next door and photography studio opposite, Barrington Road is largely residential, so while you’ll see some locals making their way to and from the tube station and Coldharbour Lane’s markets during the week, this isn’t the busiest spot for passersby. You’ll see more of Brixton’s student and young professional crowd heading out for food and drink in the evenings and at weekends.
You’ll be next door to Gresham Baptist Chapel, and over the road is Simulcra Photography Studio, whose clients include Vivienne Westwood, the BBC and Ralph Lauren.
You can dress the space, but no major changes.
Evening events require security this will be discussed on a booking by booking basis
Sound equipment needs to come from their preferred partner.
Each event must be ticketed or with guestlist, can't be open to the general booking.
You won’t be in the busiest location here, but it’s handy for Brixton station and you’ll be moments away from Coldharbour Lane.
