Located in a tranquil corner of upmarket Notting Hill, Courtnell Street is a picturesque side street frequented by well-heeled locals. Nearby, the high-end boutiques, elegant cafes, and designer showrooms of Westbourne Grove are the area’s principal draw, while just a little farther along, the antique stores and market stalls along Portobello Road are a magnet for tourists to the neighbourhood. This bijou corner shop space to rent, light-filled and chandelier-crowned, would suit a gallery, nail salon, or fashion business; with its petite outdoor space, it could also be a fitting home for an independent cafe or coffee shop.

THE CROWD

During the day, this area is the province of yummy mummies and monied ladies who lunch, who nibble on the vibrant salads from Ottolenghi or Daylesford Organic; browse the racks at Sézane, Sandro, and Reformation; buy status soaps at Aesop and candles at Diptyque; and outfit for their pilates and barre classes at Sweaty Betty. Evenings are generally quiet around these leafy climes, though restaurants like the Michelin-starred Core by Clare Smyth do bring in nighttime visitors. On Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m.–5 p.m., visitors from Portobello Road Market also filter into the area to continue browsing and take selfies in front of the rainbow-painted buildings. Ladbroke Grove, Westbourne Park, and Notting Hill Gate Underground stations are all roughly 10 minutes away.

Courtnell Street is primarily residential, though this space is right around the corner from the Caramel boutique and Petit Bateau baby shop. The destination Ottolenghi deli is one minute away, and foodies might also venture to the Le Creuset shop across the road.
