Aperçu

Outside of Fenchurch Street station’s main ticket hall is its hugely popular weekly food market. Bustling with pop up food stalls serving up dishes from around the world, there’s something for everyone passing by. The landlord is looking to showcase the best local independent food producers and traders. This is the perfect location to connect with customers and test out that new menu.

THE CROWD

Over 40,000 people each day come in and out of the station. It’s busiest here during lunch times, with plenty of office workers in the area grabbing their lunches and sweet treats.

MEET THE NEIGHBOURS

There’s plenty of offices around, as well as popular bars and cafes. Within the market itself, traders are selling everything from freshly baked goods to falafels and burgers.

Les règles à suivre

Set up time is strictly between 9.30am -10am. Pitches are on a first come first served basis (after 9.30).

Gazebos must not be left unattended at any time, this means two persons are required to trade.

The pitch closest to the power box is circa 3m, the furthest pitch is circa 8m and therefore traders will need to provide appropriate length power cables.

You must provide your own 3 x 3m Pro 40 or Pro 50 black gazebo as well as sufficient weights (minimum 20kg on each leg). The gazebo side and back panels must be attached to the gazebo at all times.

If using the food truck pitch, your truck must be no more than 4m in length.

Each trader will have access to a single all weather single phase 32amp plug socket which they may plug an all weather cable into and connect electrical equipment and devices into.

The cable must be compliant with all regulations and must be PAT tested. The equipment must not overload the supply as it will trip the power box providing electricity to all traders. If a trader is found to have tripped the supply they will be asked to leave the site and the deposit will not be returned.

Tenants can bring in their own gas supply, be aware that although gas cooking is permitted, you cannot use exposed flames (e.g fire pits) to cook with for health and safety purposes.

Traders using electricity, gas cylinder, cooking or other equipment that have the potential to cause a fire are to bring their own fire fighting equipment including fire blanket, dry powder fire extinguisher, substantial oil proof matting and a first aid kit.

Traders must come adequately prepared to clean up any accidental oil spills, and be in possession of oil absorbing cloths, mats, cleaning agents to disperse etc. Should the space be damaged in any way, traders will be responsible for covering the cost and reimbursing the landlord for charges ensued as a result.

No other re-decoration permitted.

There is a mandatory station security briefing prior to your first day of trading.

Copy of Public liability insurance, Food Hygiene and PAT testing certificates required and mandatory to trade.

Damage Deposit: £100 deposit applies

Rent is inclusive of rates and service charges (electricity and water)

VAT: Yes

If any trader is found to be in breach of any of the above terms they will be asked to leave site immediately and their deposits and other rents paid will not be refunded . Depending on the severity of the breach may be excluded from future bookings.

Bon à savoir

This space is for a pitch only, you must provide your own gazebo (or food truck) and equipment.
