These historic period gardens offer a unique location for an outdoor event. The Geffrye Museum gardens are a peaceful oasis in a busy urban area of East London. Perfect for historically-themed garden events or experiences which make the most of the varied landscape, or even atmospheric themed night-time events.
The original residential alms housing was built in 1714, and converted into a museum in 1914 to celebrate English domestic interiors from the 16th century to the present day. Each garden imitates the style of a specific century: beginning with the 20th century at one end and finishing with the 17th century and a small herb garden at the other.
At the Shoreditch end of Kingsland Road, the Geffrye Museum is well located for East London locals and visitors alike. A short walk from Hoxton station, Hoxton Square and Shoreditch High Street, the area is especially popular with a young, creative crowd and gets very busy at evenings and weekends.
Standing capacity: 120 guests.
Exclusive evening hire from 18.00 - 22.00 is available for £2,500.
This listing is for the gardens, however internal rooms of the Museum are also available for hire.
The gardens are open to the public during the day, and exclusive use would not be possible during these hours.
