While SoHo has the reputation of being one of Manhattan’s trendiest neighborhoods, it also has a deep history: from Gilded Age heart of industry, to 1980s artists enclave, to the center of shopping and dining that it is today. With this varied past comes some beautiful architecture, like this Samuel Warner-designed building along busy Greene Street, which is a New York City landmark.
It’s easy to see why. The ornately decorated cast-iron-clad seven-story building has a stunning interior, including a multi-level, turn-key retail space. The central area off the street has super high ceilings held up by fluted cast-iron columns. Those paired with Gallery lighting and hardwood floors add an airiness to the space. The basement level is carpeted and can be used for display or storage.
This stretch of SoHo is known for boutique interior design shops like Blackbody Showroom, CITE, and USM. It’s also close to art galleries and clothing designers. With just a three-minute walk, it’s easy to get to the trains or buses, too.
