A new pop-up retail and leisure concept, Hatch, has recently opened on Oxford Road near the UK’s biggest single-site university campus. Right at the front, this small, ground floor retail space is available to rent for all kinds of independent retail concepts.
During the day, Oxford Road is busy with commuters (you’ll be right on Europe’s busiest bus route) and students from the surrounding universities. It's also a popular night-time destination, home to bars like The Deaf Institute and The Dancehouse. This stretch is close enough to the city centre to attract tourists too, especially as the New York Times-recommended Principal Manchester hotel is only a five-minute walk away.
Hatch is home to Takk’s new artisan espresso bar, as well as their nano brewery and keg bar called Öl – a joint venture with local brewers Byrne the Cake. There is also a street food courtyard with four units, with a line up that rotates every 12 weeks.
Opening hours:
Monday - Friday: 10:00 - 18:00
Saturday: 11:00 - 17:00
Sunday: Closed
There's the option to trade longer with permission from management.
No retail availability at Hatch until March 2019 until the scheme completes.
Hatch sits under the Mancunian Way flyover so there'll be a lack of natural light in the space, but the unit is well-lit.
