Aperçu

Recent regeneration has helped King’s Cross shed its grimy image and emerge like a shiny new thing; no longer just a transport hub, but a destination in itself. Underneath the revamped mainline station, London’s second busiest Tube stop sees 95 million people per year swarming through its entrances and exits – an increase of nearly 30 million since 2008. If it’s attention you’re after, then you’re sure to get it in this pop-up experiential space in the station’s bright and spacious Northern Ticket Hall.

THE CROWD

It’s easier to ask “who doesn’t pass through here?”, rather than “who does?”. Mornings bring a rush of commuters, office workers, too-early tourists, and students heading to Central St Martins arts college in the glorious Granary Square. Evenings are busiest thanks to the area’s thriving drinking, dining and music scene, but King’s Cross’s hotels, museums and Zone 1 location mean that there’s pretty much always an eclectic crowd passing through.

MEET THE NEIGHBOURS

You’ll be occupying the space between the ATMs and a small Lola’s Cupcakes stand. The mainline station features a Kiehl’s, Oliver Bonas and The Harry Potter Shop. Behind the station, King’s Boulevard is home to Nike, Carhartt and a new shop and bar from Mayfair music lovers Spiritland.
