Appealing to both tourists for its designer boutiques and high-end shops, and artists for its envelope-pushing art galleries and creative vibe, Soho is quintessential downtown NYC. With its cobblestoned streets and storefronts containing cast-iron facades, there’s no better representation of Soho’s fashionably casual undercurrent than Greene Street. Hugging the corner of Houston Street and close to NYU campus, this white-boxed event space comes with a large basement storage area.
THE CROWD
During the day and on weekends, most of the tourists come to Soho for its world-renowned shopping. There’s high-end luxury shops, name-brand retailers, and independent boutiques – anything you want you can find here. Greene Street is home to more sophisticated shops and galleries including Eden Fine Art, which operates a four-floor gallery focused on contemporary art. Nicole Miller and Versace also have locations on this picturesque street. The nearest subways are the Broadway-Lafayette Station and the Prince Street R/W.

Next door is a contemporary art gallery and across the street are a number of showrooms and furniture stores. Around the corner is the adored Angelika Film Center and over on nearby Prince Street is the Apple Soho Store.

Soho is a fantastic area with a lot of foot traffic, although this part of Greene Street may get overlooked because of its close proximity to traffic-heavy Houston Street.
