Vintage vinyls, counter-culture clothing, lip-smacking street food: Camden's Stables Market sells the lot. It's no wonder it's one of Camden's largest and most popular markets. The site of a lot of redevelopment over the last few years, it's a place that’s hung onto its chaotic, intimate atmosphere. Housed in a converted railway arch is this small shop for independent designers, with a rail space suitable to rent for apparel.

THE CROWD

You’ll be surrounded by fellow doers and makers as the market is full of artists and artisans selling their wares. Once the centre of the capital’s alternative scene, Camden still attracts those who are looking to stay firmly out of the mainstream, as well as the thousands of tourists and Londoners who visit every day of the week (busiest on weekends) looking to buy and imbibe the area’s unique vibe. There’s easy access from Chalk Farm and Camden Town tube stations, both within 10 minutes’ walk.

But some of the Stables’ better-known names are futuristic fashion emporium Cyberdog, Dr. Martens, and Proud Camden, a gallery and club housed in the former horse hospital and stables that the market takes its name from.
