What used to be Stratford’s Olympic Village is now London’s newest neighbourhood: East Village, a community of apartments, independent stores and eateries a stone’s throw away from Westfield. Previously occupied by a bar/restaurant run by the folks behind Shoreditch’s Dream Bags Jaguar Shoes, this light, window-fronted space to let is available for food and beverage concepts or for retail.
Vogue called E20 “London’s hippest postcode” when East Village first opened here in 2013. A few years later, there’s still a bit of a buzz about the place; an almost constant stream of events keep its residents and visitors entertained, and there’s a real community vibe. Every Sunday, the market held on Victory Parade attracts a foodie crowd with its array of artisan bakers and craft brewers. Stratford station is a 10-minute walk away.
You’ll be facing out onto an open communal area. Next door is the stylish Darkhorse, founded by former Soho House and OXO Tower's Lee Glen and Ian Goodman.
The interior has been completely stripped, and there are some pipes and wiring on show.
The building works outside could be a little off-putting for some.
