THE CROWD

Although the village is home to more affluent families and City workers, it's still visited by Hackney's typical mix of young, dynamic creatives. On weekdays, you’ll see a few locals shopping for groceries and freshly-baked bread in the village’s myriad of foodie hotspots (Ginger Pig, Jonathan Norris Fishmongers) and The Lauriston pub over the road can get lively in the evenings. Weekends are busiest from brunch until late and the area’s eateries fill up with diners in the evenings. London Fields, Homerton and Cambridge Heath stations are all about 15 minutes’ walk.

MEET THE NEIGHBOURS

You’ll be in between Gail’s Bakery and Village Organic, a family-run fruit and veg shop. Over the road, The Lauriston does an excellent Wednesday night quiz and stone-baked pizza. You’ll not be too far from the excellent gastropub The Empress and the beautiful home design store haus.
