In Vinegar Hill, the Brooklyn waterfront was once home to a massive shipbuilding yard for the United States. Today the large warehouses and buildings are still there, but thanks to millions in funding the Brooklyn Navy Yard now houses start-ups and restaurants, and there is lots of residential action happening in the area too.
Just minutes from the yards themselves is this massive industrial depot that was built in the 1930s. Original doors, concrete floors, open arches, and walls of exposed brick recall that time gone by, but they also present an Instagrammable visual for modern tastes. One section is bright thanks to windows, overheads, and a skylight, the other section has overhead lighting.
Right across the street is Steiner Studios where films and television shows like "Trainwreck" and "The Wolf of Wall Street" were shot. There are also great restaurants in the neighborhood like SoCo and Il Porto. While the subway is about 20 minutes by foot, the B57 bus stop is a block away.
This isn't in a high footfall area, you'll need to let people know you're here.
