Canal Street is a shopping mecca for all types of shoppers. Bargain stores and street vendors compete alongside established brands to the delight of consumers, who flood the streets daily. This retail space opens directly onto the street and invites customers into a tall, well lit space.
The Crowd
Canal Street is the main street that connects SoHo, Little Italy, and Chinatown, so shoppers mix and flow freely as they make their way among the different neighborhoods. Among the bustle of discount stores and retail chains, shops with more unique identities have thrived. The area does draw many tourists but it also draws shoppers looking for a special edition sneaker or handbag.
Meet the Neighbors
Next door to this retail space is Colony, an exhibition space/furniture store for a group of independent furniture designers. Also next door is Sea NY, a high-end, whimsical women’s fashion brand. And although this space is located on the south end of SoHo, it is still firmly within Soho, and thus the neighbors consist of both large retailers such as TopShop and NikeLab and high-end boutiques like Alexander Wang.
