In a mostly residential stretch of East 99th Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenue, the architect-designed PS109 building is a community-driven project which has transformed an abandoned public school in East Harlem into an affordable arts facility. Within the 89 units of live/work housing for artists and their families is this flexible gallery and events space for rent on the ground floor.
