Hackney’s high street in everything but name, Mare Street is where you’ll find the Hackney Empire, the local cinema, the main train station and a boatload of boutiques, chain stores and bars. Occupying an eye-catching, glass-wrapped corner building looking out onto a busy pedestrianised shopping area, this space is currently used as a gallery but is available to let as a pop-up shop share (you share an entrance with Samson & Delilah hair studio) or event space.

THE CROWD

This is the main road running through one of London’s hippest neighbourhoods, so it’s always busy with shoppers during the week and on weekends. Expect to see Hackney’s young, creative, cosmopolitan residents. Over the road, Oslo draws in diners during the day and revellers into the wee small hours. Hackney Central station is less than a minute away.

Next door, Paper Dress Vintage is a treasure trove of retro clothing and accessories by day, and a bar and music venue by night. Samson & Delilah hair studio operates from the other side of the partition wall in the shop, and there’s a busy M&S and McDonalds opposite.
